South Korean electronics giant Samsung Electronics, which is the world’s biggest mobile phone and TV maker, has forecast record profits for the July to September quarter.
Samsung, which has enjoyed success with its Galaxy range of smartphones, said it operating income rose 25 percent over a year earlier to 10.1 trillion won.
Third-quarter sales increased 13 percent to a record high of 59 trillion won, the South Korea-based company added in a statement.
The company, Asia’s largest technology firm, is tapping into demand for low-cost Galaxy smartphones in China and India.
Its full results will be announced later this month.
