Ooredoo Better Future Film Festival

Ooredoo Myanmar Limited, the first 4G network provider in Myanmar, organises Ooredoo Better Future Film Festival which is open to all Myanmar citizens. The idea of Ooredoo Better Future Film Festival is to influence participating film/video directors to produce an inspiring video, demonstrating the Better Future available to the Myanmar people by recognising the importance of mobile internet, and the positive impact that it can have in their lives.

There winners of this Ooredoo film festival will be Best video award, first Runner Up for Best Video and second Runner Up. Any Myanmar citizens who have talent, creativity, and innovative ideas in this media can participate in this Ooredoo film festival. This “film” is a maximum five minute video which can be in the categories action, thriller, horror, fantasy, Si-Fi, drama, comedy, music video, documentary, mockumentary and animation. All these videos should be under the topic of “How does internet help make a better future for you or Myanmar people?” and it should not plagiarise stories, clips, music or infringed upon any copyrights.

The participant should join the Facebook group Ooredoo Better Future Film festival. Then, Upload the video. The film festival will begin on October 18 and the submission period is until December 16, 2016. The judges of Ooredoo film festival are the reputable and well-known artists Swe Zin Htike, and Wira. Additional judges include Daw Pwint Oo Swe -Marketing and Communication Director and Mr. Jason Walters – Campaign and Media Senior Manager of Ooredoo Myanmar. The judging of all submitted videos will take place on Dec 17 to 19, 2016 and winners will be announced on December 23, 2016.

Ms. Charity Safford, Chief Marketing Officer of Ooredoo Myanmar said, “By organising the film festival, we can both entertain and enlighten the audience in the use of internet in their daily life. At the same time, we need not only the movies that seek to enrich the better life of the people but also to encourage Myanmar people who love film making to show their talent, creativity, and innovation.”

The awards for the winners are U$5,000 for Best Video, U$3,000 for 1st Runner up and U$2,000 for 2nd Runner up and all these three winners will receive “Ooredoo Better Future Film Festival” Certificate and an opportunity to collaborate on future video projects with Ooredoo.
